Biography
Jason Belmonte is one of the most revolutionary figures in modern bowling history. Born on July 29, 1983, in Orange, New South Wales, Australia, Belmonte introduced a two-handed delivery style that permanently changed the sport at the professional level.
Although two-handed bowling existed before him, Belmonte refined it into a consistent, elite competitive technique. He began bowling at a very young age in his parents’ bowling center and developed extraordinary ball control and rev rate early in his career.
Belmonte joined the PBA Tour full-time in the late 2000s and quickly proved that his unconventional style was not a gimmick. By combining extremely high revolutions with improved spare shooting mechanics, he became one of the most dominant players of the 2010s.
He is often credited with inspiring an entire generation of two-handed bowlers. Today, many young professionals model their game after him.
